Rivers & Lakes of New York
While most diver’s think of Ocean and Beaches first, the Northeast has some excellent freshwater dives as well. Most Northeast divers have at some point done training or certifications at local quarries such as Lake Hydra (Dutch Springs), Brownstone, or Willow Springs. Some of the most oldest and most intact wrecks in the region can be found in the St. Laurence River on NY/Canada border. While lakes are filled with curious large mouth bass, sunfish, trout and salamanders. Visibility can often be excellent, and rough seas are never an issue.
